Jimmy John’s coming to Huntingburg

A new Jimmy John’s franchise is set to open in Huntingburg, bringing its signature fast-and-fresh sandwich offerings to the community.

Known for its streamlined menu and quick service, the shop specializes in sub sandwiches made on freshly baked French bread and stacked with premium meats, cheeses, and crisp vegetables. Customers can choose from a lineup of classic favorites or customize their own sandwich, with the option to order it “unwich” style—wrapped in lettuce instead of bread—for a lighter alternative.

In addition to its sandwiches, the restaurant will offer sides like kettle-cooked chips, fresh-baked cookies, and fountain drinks. Built around speed and consistency, Jimmy John’s has earned a loyal following for getting orders out quickly without sacrificing quality.

Partners Daric Huckelby and Eric Youngblood, who operate the Jasper location, plan to locate their new restaurant on Veterans Parkway next to Arby’s. The group purchased the land from the City of Huntingburg last year.

They aren’t sure when construction will begin as they are waiting on the city to complete necessary sanitary sewer work in the area before putting the contract for construction out to bid.

“Hopefully by the end of the year, we will have a building up and ready to go,” Huckelby said.

According to Huckelby, they were attracted to Huntingburg because of the strong ties to the community and the demand for their tasty offerings. “We always get calls for delivery over there,” he said.

Huckelby also lives nearby in Hunter’s Crossing and is looking forward to building a community of customers in the city he calls home.

“We have a bunch of regulars over here in Jasper,” he explained. “We look forward to doing the same there.”

“Hopefully by the end of the year, we will have a building up and ready to go,” Huckelby said.
