Jerry Striegel, 64

Jerry Striegel, age 64, of Dubois passed away at 8:05 a.m., Tuesday (June 19, 2012) at I.U. Medical Center – Simon Cancer Center, in Indianapolis, Indiana, of Multiple Myeloma.
Jerry was born on May 20, 1948 in Washington, Indiana to Thomas and Sarah Jane (Friedman) Striegel. He married Martha Sue Baer on September 9, 1972 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana.
Jerry was employed at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana (TMMI). He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Jerry was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Haysville, the St. Paul’s Fundraising Committee, a member of the Dubois High School class of 1966, the Dubois Development Corporation, and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #673.
He was an avid deer and turtle hunter, and he enjoyed sports, attending his grandkid’s sporting events, and spending time with his family.

Preceding Jerry in death besides his father, is his step-father, Arthur Bonner.
A celebration of life service for Jerry Striegel will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (June 23, 2012) at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Pastor Charla Grieves will officiate. The V.F.W. Post #673 will conduct military graveside rights.
Friends may call from 2:00-9:00 p.m., Friday (June 22, 2012) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Capital Stewardship Fund, the Miles for Myeloma Fund, the Dubois Community Park or to a favorite charity.
