Jerry L. Schneider, 86, Holland

Jerry L. Schneider, 86, of Holland, passed away on August 27, 2024, at Brookside Village in Jasper, Indiana.

He was born November 3, 1937, in Jasper to Arnold and Anita (Landgrebe) Schneider.  

He married Janice Fenneman on September 5, 1964.   

Jerry worked as an electrician for 42 years with Hulsman Electric. In his younger years, he played semi-pro ball for the Jasper Reds as a southpaw pitcher. He could throw a 100-mph fastball and had a tryout with the White Sox.  

Jerry was a member of Hadi Shriners, Freemasons and Eastern Star. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janice; two brothers, Frederick and Jack Schneider; and a sister, Phyllis Pauley.

He is survived by his children, Stan Schneider of Holland, Shawn (Kevin) Kalb of Dubois, Sarah Schneider of Holland; a brother, Patrick (Virlee) Schneider of Indianapolis; sister-in-law, Jean (Bernie) Fehribach of Poseyville; brother-in-law, Jerry “Butch” (Ruth) Fenneman of Holland; six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

 Visitation for Jerry L. Schneider will be held at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. EST. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. following the visitation. Burial will take place on September 6, 2024, at Holland Methodist Cemetery.
