Jerry Hudson, 59, Jasper

Jerry Hudson, 59, of Jasper, passed away at 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, surrounded by family at St. Vincent Heart Hospital in Carmel, Indiana.

Jerry was born in Jasper, Indiana, on August 25, 1965, to Gerald “Buck” and Mary Lee (Reckelhoff) Hudson. 

He married Sheryl Fromme on October 24, 1992.

He was a 1983 graduate of Jasper High School.

He had worked at Jasper Salvage since high school and then became co-owner.

He was a past member of the Jasper Moose and the Jasper Outdoor Recreation.

Jerry was affectionately known by his family as a teddy bear, and they often called him “Jer-Bear.” Jerry enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, baseball, and loved to watch movies. He was an avid Los Angeles Dodgers and Indiana Hoosiers fan.

He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Hudson of Jasper; two children, Haley (Devin) Sorrells of Haysville and Zach Hudson, and partner, Cassie Merrimon, of Holland; five sisters, Donna Hudson of Washington, Cindy (Steve) Lindauer, Wanda (Bill) Dickenson, Terri (Jean-Marc) Lenoir, Janet (Roger) Judd, all of Jasper; and many nieces and nephews.   

Preceding him in death are his parents, one sister, Debbie Hudson-Smith, and one nephew, Josh Smith.

A funeral service for Jerry Hudson will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Redemption Christian Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service time at Redemption Christian Church on Tuesday.
