Jerald L. “Jerry” Mundy, 72, Jasper

Jerald L. “Jerry” Mundy, 72, of Jasper, passed away at 9:42 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2017, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Jerry was born in Davenport, Iowa, on January 15, 1945, to Theodore and Mathilda (Witt) Mundy. He married Yvonne Korthaus on August 8, 1987, in Wilton, Iowa.

Jerry previously worked for Grunder Ready Mix in Wilton, Iowa. He then worked at Jasper Engines for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He volunteered for the French Lick Railroad and was on the board of directors from 1995 to 2009. Afterwards, they gave him a lifetime membership for his years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Yvonne Mundy of Jasper; two stepdaughters, Marjorie Rust (Robert) of Seymour and Melissa Korthaus of Jasper; one stepson, Kenneth Korthaus and fiancé, Heather Hasenour of Jasper; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death is one sister, Evelyn Mundy.

A memorial service for Jerald L. “Jerry” Mundy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow at a later date. Pastor Darrel Land will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
