Jeffrey L. Kearby, 55

Jeffrey L. Kearby, 55, of Dubois, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at his residence.
Jeff was born on January 6, 1959 in French Lick to John and Bessie (Watts) Kearby. He married Laquita Schley on December 14, 2006 and she survives.
Jeff was a 1977 graduate of Springs Valley High School. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He had previously worked for Craftsman Construction, Jasper Lumber and the Lauth Group. He attended the Nicholson Valley Christian Church and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #76 in French Lick.
He is survived by his wife, Laquita Kearby of Lafayette, daughter, Krystal (Scott) Draughn of Indianapolis; stepdaughter, Brittany Shoaf of San Francisco, Cal.; stepsons, Stanley Reid of Columbus and Robert Shoaf of Lafayette and seven grandchildren, Kennedy Kunkel, Hannah Draughn, James, Kamryn, and Shiley Reid, Maddock and Traven Shoaf. He is also survived by his sisters, Janet (David) Weaver of French Lick, Judy (Harold) Carlson of Santa Clara, Cal., and Joyce Kearby of French Lick, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Glenn Kearby.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 2, 2014 at T.L Pinnick Mortuary, 785 South Bears Bend Road, French Lick, with Rev. Al Madden officiating.
Burial will be at Ames Chapel Cemetery in Paoli on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 1:00 PM. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014 and again on Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at T.L Pinnick Mortuary.
