Jeannette Anna Messmer, 78, St. Henry

Jeannette Anna Messmer, 78, of St. Henry, passed away at 7:55 a.m. on Monday, December 25, 2017, at the Waters of Huntingburg.

Jeannette was born in Jasper, Ind. on July 22, 1939, to Edwin and Gertrude (Merkel) Heldman. She married Irwin Messmer on May 7, 1958, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1991.

She retired from OFS Brands in Huntingburg. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Messmer of Huntingburg, Elizabeth Messmer of St. Henry and Debbie Denu of Huntingburg; two sons, Kenny Messmer (Bonnie) of Huntingburg and Randy Messmer of Huntingburg; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Willa Mae Underhill of Huntingburg.

Preceding her in death besides her husband were two sons, Harold and Larry Messmer; one brother, James Heldman; one sister, Laverne Holst; and one great-grandchild, Nathan Messmer.

A Mass of Christian Burial of Jeannette Anna Messmer will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.
