Jazz and Big Band performance with wine tasting planned for Lincoln Amphitheatre

The seven southern Indiana wineries that comprise the Hoosier Wine Trail (River City, Indian Creek, Scout Mountain, Blue Heron, Monkey Hollow, Pepper’s Ridge, and Mystique Winery) will hold a free wine tasting event beginning at 4:30 p.m. (central) and lasting through the performance of big band and jazz classics by the Cool City Band (beginning at 7 p.m. central) on Saturday, September 24.

“Wine, big band and jazz classics, and one of the most scenic outdoor venues in Indiana—this is going to be a special evening,” said Marc Steczyk, Director of the Lincoln Amphitheatre.

The Indianapolis-based Cool City Band has collaborated with some of the most respected institutions and corporations across the Midwest and will play favorites from the ‘Great American Songbook,’ including well known songs by Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael, Duke Ellington, and other greats artists. They also perform great party tunes from the ‘Horn Bands’ of the 70s right through today’s hit tunes, classic rock and roll, and Motown songs.  This very tight band includes brass, saxophones, keyboards, bass, guitar, and drums. The musicians and singers are versed in all styles and genres of music–from swing to rock and roll.

Tickets for this event are $12 for general admission and $19 for VIP (preferred parking and seating, a free drink voucher redeemable in the concessions building, a souvenir wine glass, and a commemorative poster) and can be purchased online atwww.LincolnAmphitheatre.com. Use the code “Lincoln16” to unlock a $2 per general admission and/or $4 per VIP discount.
