Jasper woman in contest to support breast cancer research/awareness
Jill McCune is seeking support from the local community in a contest that highlights women over 40 and raises funding for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Jill, a Dubois County native and a local speech pathologist at Deaconess Memorial, entered the contest because of the impact funding can have on a disease that affects many women, including women in her own life.
“It is a cause close to my heart as my maternal grandmother, mother, sister and several friends have all faced breast cancer,” she said. “Supporting this mission feels both personal and deeply meaningful.”
This is the fifth year for the contest, Fab over 40, put on by NewBeauty magazine. The contest has raised more than $25 million for NBCF through the donations associated with the contest. For example, if you choose to support Jill, you can vote once daily for free, or pay $10 for ten votes, $25 for 25 votes; $50 for 50 votes, up to 250 votes.
Jill is currently in fourth place in the quarter-finalist round and with two days left is seeking help from the community to support a cause she holds dear to her heart and move her on to the next round. In addition to being featured on the cover of NewBeauty magazine, Jill is eligible to win two additional prizes, including $40,000.
“I would love to win but most importantly feel the contest has a great cause with all donations made directly to the NBCF,” she said.
