Taking to the skies at Jasper RC Flyers open house

Jasper — The Jasper RC Flyers club open house held on June 22, 2024, was a tremendous success, according to organizers. The event, which took place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 1103 S 350 W, Jasper, attracted a diverse crowd of all ages, including families and aviation enthusiasts.
One of the day’s highlights was celebrating part of Roland Johnson’s eighth birthday at our event, adding an extra layer of joy and excitement. The young attendees, including Roland, had a fantastic time building and decorating 15 chuck gliders, which they proudly took home as souvenirs.

The experienced instructors were kept busy throughout the event as many attendees took their first RC flights. The smiles and enthusiasm from first-time flyers were a testament to the event’s success and the community’s growing interest in radio-control aviation.
The event was filled with engaging activities, impressive displays of RC aircraft, and a free raffle for a beginner RC airplane kit.
“It was exciting to see an attendee to be able to take home a ready to fly beginner aircraft and I hope it inspires them to begin in the hobby,” said Jeremy Church, Club Secretary and Event Organizer.
Jasper RC Flyers is excited to announce the next event, the Strassenfest Fly-In, which will take place on August 3rd, 2024. Gates will open at 10 a.m., and the event will last all day. Attendees can look forward to witnessing impressive pilots from around the region, a Candy Drop for the kids, and various concessions. Entrance for spectators is free, so mark your calendars for a day of fun and excitement!
The Jasper RC Flyers Club extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making the Open House event memorable. We look forward to seeing you at the Strassenfest Fly-In and continuing to share our passion for RC flying with the community. Find more details on our website at www.jasperrcflyers.org
