Jasper, Southridge, Forest Park marching band advance to state finals

The Indiana High School Marching Band Finals are set for this coming weekend.

Jasper achieved a spot in the finals in Class B with their performance at Pike High School on the northwest side of Indianapolis Saturday. In the finals, Jasper will compete against familiar bands; Northview, Concord and Bloomington North. Notably missing from the finals is Greenwood. That would appear to open the door for other bands to reach the top spot in Class B.

In Class D, Forest Park, Southridge and Springs Valley all made it to the finals.

Noticeably missing are South Spencer, Orleans and Tell City.

All bands will march at Lucas Oil Stadium this Saturday, October 29 in Indianapolis.

WITZ News Director Jim O’Neal will be at the finals and deliver a live update on the finishing order from Lucas Oil Stadium once Class B and Class D competitions are completed.

Finally, in the Scholastic Class for small bands on Saturday, Northeast Dubois did not place in the finals, but they had a great year, nonetheless. Congratulations to them.
