Jasper resident facing molestation charges

An investigation into allegations of the sexual assault of a minor led to the arrest of a Jasper man Wednesday by the Washington Police Department

According to police, a detective was contacted by the Indiana Department of Child Services regarding a sexual assault investigation involving a minor in October.

As a result of the investigation, Alexander Korthaus, 23, was arrested on two charges of child molesting, a count of sexual misconduct with a minor and child exploitation.

Korthaus was arrested by the Washington detective with the assistance of patrol officers without incident. He was lodged in the Daviess County jail.

The Davies County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police and the Southwestern Indiana Child Advocacy Coalition assisted in the investigation.
