Jasper presents Charlie Schneider Safety First Award to Jim Stallman

The City of Jasper awarded Jim Stallman with the Charlie Schneider Safety First Award.
Stallman, the second recipient of this award, is the Electric Distribution Substation Foreman, who will be retiring this month following a career with the city spanning more than 45 years. Stallman was an original member of the City’s Safety Committee which was established in 1994.
According to Cale Knies, Director of Personnel, Safety and Loss Control, who presented the award, “Stallman’s efforts toward safety have been recognized by his peers. His willingness to go above and beyond is well-known to all of us. The time and commitment put forth to make sure our facilities and employees are safe has been a part of Jim’s life. He values this as much as keeping citizens safe through his work as substation foreman.”
Stallman’s Supervisor, Electric Distribution Manager Jerry Schitter, concurred.
The award is named for Charlie Schneider, the city’s first Director of Personnel/Safety/Loss Control. The criteria for future recipients of the honor was created by the Safety Team who felt it was a perfect fit for Stallman based on his merits.
It was presented in a Friday morning ceremony at the Electric Department.
