Jasper police seeking vehicle that struck fire hydrant

Police are seeking information about a vehicle that struck and damaged a fire hydrant Wednesday afternoon on Newton Street.

The vehicle was traveling north on Newton Street and turned east onto 36th Street at about 4 p.m. when the driver cut the turn to short and struck a fire hydrant in the shoulder of the intersection.

Police are asking that anyone who witnessed the crash contact the department at 812-482-2255.
