Jasper police seeking hit-and-run driver

The Jasper Police Department is asking the public for help to identify the driver of an SUV that struck a utility pole early Sunday morning.

According to police, a burnt-orange SUV struck a sign and a utility pole at the corner of Sixth and St. John streets at about 3:35 a.m. The utility pole fell into the roadway.

After the crash, the driver then fled west on Sixth Street.

The SUV should have damages to its front end.
