A black SUV fled the scene of a three vehicle accident on Friday night.

The SUV was following a 2008 Scion XD driven by Margeaux C. Rennels, 17, Evansville, and a 2011 Toyota Rav4 driven by Katherine F. Kelley, 20, Madisonville, KY at around 4:23 p.m. The three vehicles were driving north on U.S. 231 when Rennels and Kelley slowed and stopped due to traffic ahead of them. After stopping Rennels was hit by the SUV and pushed into Kelley’s vehicle.

Rennels said the driver motioned for her to pull over, so Rennels and Kelley both pulled over to Tenth Street to clear the traffic lane. However, the SUV did not pull over and continued away from the scene on U.S. 231.

Rennels stated the black SUV may have been a GMC Humvee.

The Toyota and Scion both had $2500 in damages.
