Jasper police arrest two with stolen credit card information
A traffic stop instigated due to an expired license plate led police to finding stolen credit card information.
The investigation began on January 24, 2021, when an officer stopped a vehicle with an expired license plate and determined the occupants were involved in an investigation into stolen credit card information.
Police were granted a search warrant through the Dubois County Prosecutor’s Office and during the search, located nine credit cards with stolen numbers and identifiers. Detectives determined the information had been stolen through the use of credit card skimmers on gas pumps.
Detectives have notified the victims about their stolen information.
Yasmany Alvarez Corvea, 32, Jasper, and Jose Rodriguez Martinez, 27, Jasper, were arrested on 12 preliminary counts of theft, fraud and fraud on a financial institute
