Jasper police arrest Dale woman after receiving drug tip

Jasper officers arrested one woman and summoned another to court after receiving a tip about a vehicle possibly transporting drugs Thursday afternoon.
According to police, the tip receive said the van was last seen on Leopold Street. They located the vehicle, a 2002 Dodge Caravan, speeding southbound on U.S. 231 at about 2:32 p.m. They stopped the van near 12th St. and during the investigation located drugs and paraphernalia.
Tina Somers, 45, of E. Medcalf St., Dale, was charged with possession of synthetic cannabinoid, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and possession of a legend drug. She was booked into the Dubois County Security Center.
Leigha D. Gentry, 30, of Vine St., Dale, was cited into court for possession of a cannabinoid and possession of paraphernalia.
