Jasper Performing Arts presents Rodgers & Hammerstein’s ‘Cinderella’

Topher, or Prince Charming, played by Sam Shappard, and Ella, played by Ava Claire Werne, meet for the first time at the ball.

Jasper High School Performing Arts has been working hard to bring Rodgers & Hammerstein’s classic Cinderella to the community with three shows this weekend.

This timeless musical brings new life to the classic fairy tale. Featuring a lush score by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, the show follows the kind and hopeful Cinderella as she overcomes adversity with grace and dreams of a better life. With the help of her Fairy Godmother, she attends the royal ball, captures the Prince’s heart, and discovers the power of kindness, courage, and self-worth.

The Broadway version includes modern updates to the original story, adding depth to the characters and fresh humor, while still preserving the show’s magical charm and unforgettable songs like “In My Own Little Corner,” “Ten Minutes Ago,” and “Impossible.”

Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Jasper High School auditorium. Tickets are available here.
