Jasper Middle School Circle the State with Song photos from an aspiring photojournalist

On March 2, Jasper Middle School, Forest Park Junior High School, Southridge Middle School and Heritage Hills Middle School, gathered at the Jasper Middle School for the Circle the State with Song program sponsored by the Indiana Music Education Association.
Jack Greener, a 13-year-old JMS student and choir member, provided these photos from the practices. He was going to write a story about the preparation he and other students went through for the event but, alas, ISTEP and other events took precedence. He did take some great photos though and we didn’t want to waste that his efforts, so enjoy and maybe send Jack some words of encouragement.
Here are a couple photos he provided.

From Jack;
Hi my name is Jack Greener, I’m 13 years old. I live in Jasper, Indiana. I attend Jasper Middle School. I have a passion for photography and photojournalism. I’ve been interested in photography for about four years and I have been photographing and writing for about a year now.
Sometimes when people see me, they think that I don’t know what I’m doing, or I’m not old enough.
I think that when someone looks at a photograph taken by a teen or even a kid, they see something different than what they would see in a photograph taken by an older professional. Plus, when teens or kids write a story from their point of view I think it can give a unique perspective to a reader.
I love being able to write, and photograph for things like Dubois County Free Press, and Dubois county Tourism, because it gives me a firsthand look at what a job in the field of journalism may be. I also think that it is great when you get recognition for what you do. Most kids whine and complain when they have to write a story, or an essay, but that it what I do for fun, as a hobby. I want to do it any chance that I get.
