Jasper man arrested for brandishing a firearm

Jasper police arrested a man on Thursday for brandishing a long gun in front of two residents.

Police responded to 4120 Wilhelm Strasse at around 11:44 a.m., but the man, 24-year-old Daniel Lawson Jr., had left. The officers canvassed the area and located Lawson in his vehicle a few blocks away.

Lawson was questioned and then charged with criminal recklessness. He was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
