Jasper man charged with 2 counts of child molestation; woman arrested for child neglect

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department arrested Robert D. Blanford, 24, of 1049 Edward St., Jasper, Tuesday on charges of child molestation.
According to authorities, they were asked to assist the Dubois County Circuit Court Probation officers during a home search for Blanford who is on probation for sexual battery. Probate officers suspected he was violating his probation terms.
When officers arrived at Blanford’s residence, they determined he was violating the terms of his probation by living with a person under the age of 16.
During the investigation, deputies requested the assistance of the Jasper Police Department and the Department of Family and Children Services.
Deputies arrested Blanford for two counts of Level 1 felony child molestation (suspect over 21, victim under 14); one count of Level 4 felony vicarious sexual gratification; and two counts of Level 5 felony criminal confinement.
Police also arrested 37-year-old Destiny Warner, of the same address for a count of Level 6 felony child neglect and two warrants for contempt of court in small claims cases.
The investigation is ongoing. Deputies are being assisted by the Jasper Police Department, Dubois County Division of Family and Children Services, Dubois County Circuit Court Probation, and the Dubois County Prosecutor’s Office.
More charges are expected and there may be additional arrests as the case develops further.
