Jasper Lions Club’s Radio Auction returns for 66th year

The Jasper Lions Club will hold its annual Radio Auction this month, marking 66 years of one of the area’s longest-running fundraisers.

The auction will be broadcast live at 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Sept. 14-17, on WITZ, 104.7 FM, from the Dubois County Museum. Listeners can bid on a wide range of donated items throughout the week.

Proceeds support the Lions Club’s work throughout Dubois County, including vision screenings, eyeglass assistance, community improvement projects, scholarships, and aid for families in need.

The club is still accepting auction donations, including goods, services, gift certificates, and monetary contributions from local businesses and individuals.

Gene Kuntz will return as auctioneer for the event. Bids can be placed in person at the museum or by phone at 812-482-5955 during auction hours, with Lions Club volunteers relaying calls to the auction board and sales announced live on air. Winning bidders can pick up items during auction hours or Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to noon.
