Jasper HomeTown Competitiveness promoting random acts of kindness
The Jasper HomeTown Competitiveness Initiative is promoting the area become involved in the national “Pay It Forward Day” on Thursday, April 25th.
The pay it forward initiative involves people doing random acts of kindness for others without expecting anything in return. The goal is to create a positive ripple effect of giving by paying the kindness forward to others.
The national “Pay It Forward Program” has produced some wonderful random acts of kindness throughout the past seven years. Pay It Forward Day is a great reminder of the positive energy produced when we give to others.
Each deed can be large or small – as large or small as you would like to make it: from buying a cup of coffee for a stranger, to helping a stranger carry their groceries, to buying a meal for an elderly or needy neighbor, not charging a client for work that day, raising money for a charity, collect cans for the Food Bank, encourage staff members at your business to participate in the day and promote it internally, and the ideas are endless.
The aim of this day is to simply put a smile on someone else’s face and feel good about what you have done for someone else. The breadth and depth of paying it forward are only limited to your imagination.
The JasperHTC Leadership Pillar feels that it is important to look for opportunities in the community to help others – to provide guidance and assistance to others – and to show others that you care. There are so many ways to do this. Participating in Pay It Forward Day on April 25th is just one small way for individuals, students, groups or businesses to make a difference in the life of someone else.
You can go to the Pay It Forward Website at: www.payitforwardday.com and print off ways to be involved, ideas, pay it forward cards, and other suggestions for you to be involved as an individual, school, organization or business.
