Jasper High School announces athletic hall of fame coming in 2022
Jasper High School will establish an Athletic Hall of Fame in 2022 to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the school’s athletic success.
The athletic hall of fame will have induction categories for athletes, coachs, athletic contributors, and state championship teams.
“Jasper High School has a great heritage and tradition of sports success, and we thought it was time to recognize the major people involved,” Jasper High School Ahtletic Director Brian Lewis said. “We want inclusion into the hall to be special, so there will be a high standard for induction. We want to make sure members are very deserving and are great examples to inspire youth.”
The inaugural Jasper High School Hall of Fame class will be inducted in the fall of 2022. The inductees will be recognized at the Jasper vs. Evansville Mater Dei varsity football game on Friday, September 16, 2022, with an induction banquet/ceremony the following day on Saturday, September 17, 2022.
The charter class will include athletes and coaches who have been honored as inductees into a state-wide Indiana hall of fame primarily for their accomplishments at Jasper High School and all the eight JHS state championship teams.
A room at the Jasper High School Gymnasium will be created to honor the inductees.
The second hall of fame class will be inducted in the fall of 2023. It will include any individual state champions. The 2023 class will also be open for nominations from the public. Certain criteria will need to be met to be considered for induction. Complete information about the future nominating process will be announced after the first class is inducted in 2022. Future nominations will be reviewed and voted on by an anonymous committee.
