Jasper Group celebrating 150 years of craftsmanship

In 1876, while Thomas Edison was beginning to light Manhattan, furniture was already being crafted and shipped across the country from the very facility Jasper Group still operates today.
As America approaches its 250th anniversary, the milestone offers a chance to reflect on the generations of craftsmanship, innovation, and community that helped shape both an industry and the nation itself.

Inside the original building still hangs the industry’s earliest patent. It serves as a reminder of the ingenuity, curiosity, and craftsmanship that shaped the company.
“That’s really the story of these 150 years,” said Mike Wagner, CEO & Chair of Jasper Group. “Generations of people showed up with pride and a focus to continuously make things better. It’s that attitude that drives our continued success.”

Over the decades, Jasper Group has evolved because of the incredible care for what the customer genuinely appreciates. Product innovation, craft detail, and partnerships built on earned trust became the cornerstones of differentiation for the company, while connection to the community remained deeply tied to their purpose and future. At a time when artificial intelligence is reshaping society, Jasper Group believes there will always be lasting value in human craft, human judgement, and exceptional human service. The company embraces innovation where it improves the customer experience, while staying committed to protecting artistry and human connection.

Throughout the year, Jasper Group will host a series of celebrations and initiatives designed to celebrate the people who helped shape it along the way.
The 150th anniversary celebration is scheduled for this fall and will bring together employees, retirees, families, customers, and community members. Planned activities will include a Soapbox Derby race where cars will be built by each production facility, and 100% of the friendly wagers will be donated to SWICAC. The community will be invited to join the good-natured wagering. In addition, their employees are brewing a custom anniversary beer, and have written a ballad that will be performed live during the evening celebration. More details of the event will be made public soon.
As Jasper Group looks ahead, their purpose is to continue investing in the growth of their employees while cultivating new opportunities for young people entering the workforce. The company hopes the next generation will not only inherit a business, but a community where meaningful work, innovation, and opportunity continue to thrive.
