The Jasper Municipal Water Department issued an emergency boil order for their customer’s and the general public due to multiple water leaks on Second Avenue and Riverside Drive.

The area affected is east on Second Avenue starting at Hillside Dr. and includes Hillside Drive, Riverside Drive and Sherri Lane.

This is the ONLY portion of the City of Jasper that is affected.

This boil order shall remain in effect for a minimum of 48 hours and is expected to be lifted sometime on Saturday.

The Jasper Municipal Water Department will notify local media when the boil order is lifted.

In the meantime those affected areas are advised to boil their water for human and pet consumption a minimum of 5 minutes. Any further questions can be addressed by calling the Water Department at 812-482-5252.
