Jasper Downtown Revitalization update

Jasper’s Downtown Revitalization Phase II Project is moving forward, with the 9th and Main Streets intersection now closed for repairs.

Trucks traveling east-west are being directed to 15th Street during the closure. The rest of Main Street is open to traffic.

Crews are working on sidewalks, ramps, and driveways this week. Next week, they’ll continue these improvements and begin tearing up the remaining road, preparing it for paving.

Paving on North Main Street is set to begin the week of September 15, followed by repairs to uneven areas on South Main.

Once the 9th Street intersection work is completed, the final paving of Main Street will follow shortly thereafter.

The city is also reminding the public of the newly installed four-way stop signs at the 5th and Main and 7th and Main intersections.

The project team noted that this timeline could change depending on the weather and material availability.

Pedestrians will still be able to access all building entrances throughout the project, addressing concerns about getting to local businesses.
