Jasper Downtown Revitalization Phase II update for April 2

The Downtown Revitalization Phase II Project in Jasper is making steady progress, with construction crews completing most work between 3rd and 4th Streets and reopening that section to traffic.
Base paving has been completed on the reopened stretch, though final surface paving and striping will be completed at a later date.
Construction efforts are now focused on the area between 7th and 8th Streets, with work expected to extend to the 8th Street intersection. Both blocks are anticipated to be closed for most of the duration of repairs.
Within the next week, possibly as soon as Thursday, April 3, crews will begin removing the sidewalk along the east half of the road between 7th and 8th Streets. Sidewalk replacement is expected to take approximately three weeks.
Project officials note that scheduling remains dependent on weather conditions and material availability.
Despite the ongoing construction, accessibility to all building entrances will be maintained for foot traffic throughout the project. The German American Bank drive-thru also remains operational at this time.
The update comes from a construction meeting held on April 2 with representatives from Ragle Construction, REA, VS Engineering, and the City of Jasper. Meetings with contractor representatives are scheduled bi-weekly.
