Jasper Downtown Revitalization Phase II project update
Construction crews are making headway on Phase II of Jasper’s Downtown Revitalization Project, according to officials at Wednesday’s construction meeting.
Representatives from Ragle Construction, REA, VS Engineering, and the City of Jasper gathered to discuss the project’s progress on Main Street.
The south side construction between 4th and 5th Streets has reached several key milestones, with both electrical underground work and water irrigation systems now complete. Crews are currently preparing concrete foundations for new sidewalks, which are scheduled for installation over the next two weeks.
Weather permitting, sidewalk pouring will commence next week and continue into the following week, with this section targeted for completion by Thanksgiving or shortly after.
They expect to begin asphalt subgrade work on the roadway between 4th and 5th Streets around November 22.
After the Thanksgiving holiday, the construction team will shift its focus to the area between 3rd and 4th Streets.
Looking ahead to 2025, the contractor will return after New Year’s to begin Part Two of the project, which includes improvements to Main Street from 7th to 9th Streets. Final completion is anticipated by spring 2025, though officials note that scheduling remains dependent on weather conditions and material availability.
Throughout the ongoing construction, officials emphasize that foot traffic access to all building entrances will be maintained. The project team will continue to hold bi-weekly meetings to monitor progress, with regular updates provided to the public.
