Jasper couple facing charges for garage burglary

Thursday, Jasper police charged two people in connection with a residential burglary that occurred on June 11.
According to police, they received a report of that a garage had been burglarized on on Briarcliff Parkway. Items taken included a children’s North Face jacket, 30 lbs. of meat, an Under Armour backpack, 50 DVDs, drill sets and landscaping lights.
Through the course of the investigation, police learned that Nicholas R. King, 35, and Caran R. Sublett, 25, both of 30 Cedarcrest Court, Apartment 1, Jasper, were seen with items matching the description of the victim’s property the day the burglary was reported.
After interviewing witnesses, Jasper police applied for and received a search warrant through the Dubois County Circuit Court to search the couple’s Cedarcrest Court apartment.
During the search of the apartment on Thursday, June 16, police say they recovered numerous items belonging to the victim.
King was charged with a Level 4 felony burglary and Level 6 felony theft and booked into the Dubois County Security Center. Sublett will be summoned to court at a later date on charges.
All items recovered during the investigation were returned to the victim.
