Jasper company donates $500 to support Loogootee Fire Department’s special training trailer

The Mortgage Company of Southern Indiana, Inc. (NMLS 175673) has donated $500 to the Loogootee Fire Department to assist with repairs and upgrades to its Fire Safety Education trailer, a mobile unit used to teach fire prevention and emergency safety throughout the community.

The Loogootee Fire Department’s Fire Safety Unit has been serving the community for more than 15 years, helping residents—especially children—learn critical fire safety skills, including fire prevention, proper smoke alarm use, and how to safely exit a home during an emergency.

The planned upgrades to the trailer will allow firefighters to deliver more effective safety training. Improvements include exterior upgrades, such as a professional graphic wrap and improved entry steps, as well as an interior remodel to create a better educational environment for teaching life-saving fire safety skills.

“Fire safety education saves lives,” said Darren C. Patterson, Mortgage Broker and Owner of The Mortgage Company of Southern Indiana. “This trailer helps firefighters teach families how to prevent fires and respond quickly in an emergency. Supporting the Loogootee Fire Department is an investment in the safety of our entire community.”

The trailer is used not only by the Loogootee Fire Department but also to assist surrounding departments and community organizations with fire prevention education efforts.

As a locally owned and veteran-owned business, The Mortgage Company of Southern Indiana believes in supporting organizations that strengthen the community and protect local families.
