Jasper Common Council meeting notes

The Jasper Common Council met for the regular meeting and took the following actions:

  • Passed Ordinance 2016-24 to vacate a part of the platted 12 foot public alley between lots 74 and 75 in Summit Heights Addition, just off of Schuetter Road. The request came from John G. Weber, Jr.
  • Passed Ordinance 2016-25 to rezone 8.505 acres of property between Green Meadows Estates IV and Brookstone Estates IV from A-1 Agriculture to R-R Rural Residential, upon request from Keusch Kids, LLC and KAKB LLC.
  • Approved the 2017 budget in Ordinance 2016-18, the advertised tax rate of 1.0126 per $100 of assessed valuation, and pay increases of 1.5% for all utility and civil city employees in Ordinances 2016-22 and 2016-23.
  • Approved a recommendation to move the Wednesday, November 23rd council meeting to Tuesday, November 22nd due to the closeness to Thanksgiving holiday. They also approved with the City will observe 2017 holidays that fall on a weekend for the city calendar.
  • Listened to Utilities General Manager Bud Hauersperger recap the actions of the Utility Service Board from Monday night.
