Jasper Arts Commission: Temporary Alcohol License issued
The Jasper Arts Commission is now authorized by the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission to serve alcohol at Arts Center events.
Arts Center Director Kit Miracle said that they met with representatives of the commission on Monday and that the only thing standing in the way of offering alcohol at events is the permanent permit along with training and licensing of several staff members.
Miracle told the board that she hopes to have temporary permits in place by the next event, which is the Miracle Worker at the Arts Center on Saturday, March 29. Alcohol would be made available before each event and during intermission.
The Alcohol and Tobacco Commission issues temporary permits first, with the permanent to follow, but City Attorney Renee Kabrick said that the last time the City applied for and was issued one, the permanent permit didn’t arrive before the temporary one expired and the city had to apply for another temporary permit.
Miracle said that she would send an email to the commission to find out what the timing might be for the permits to be issued.
