Jasper Arts announces 2015-16 performing arts season

Celebrating 40 years of being pART of your life, Jasper Arts announced the 2015-16 performing arts season

The season features four diverse series of performing arts events showcasing twelve extraordinary artists.

Performers Series – Traditional and New Directions, Backstage and Family Fun Series shows will be held at the Jasper Arts Center this October 2015 through April 2016.

Past series subscribers should renew tickets by July 24, 2015 for same seat guarantee. If they do not renew by the cutoff date, their seats will be given away. They will get first reserve seat choice if they order either Performers Series – Traditional or Performers Series – New Directions.

New patrons who wish to order series tickets may do so through Friday, August 21, 2015.  Patrons may contact the box office now to be placed on the wait list.  Orders are filled on a first come, first served basis.

Single tickets for all performances will go on sale after August 21, 2015. You do not need to buy an entire series to order tickets but we do recommend that you purchase your tickets in advance due to past patron demand. Single tickets are also filled on a first come, first served basis so we are also placing people on waiting lists for individual performances.

Tickets can be purchased four easy ways. In person – stop by the JCA office at 951 College Avenue, Jasper (Office hours are 9 am-5 pm, Monday-Friday), by mail – use the order form inside the season guide and mail to the above address, by fax – credit card orders for Visa and MasterCard are accepted to our fax number (812) 634-6997, and by phone – call the JCA box office at (812) 482-3070 to place a credit card order or for additional information and a season guide. The JCA offers patrons several packages from which to choose, which works out to savings of up to 30% over single ticket prices! Buy all four series of twelve great performances for a Grand Package for only $225 for adults, $210 seniors, and $150 student/child. Or buy any single series – Performers, Backstage, Family Fun, or bring a group of friends of 20 or more for a 15% group discount.  Of course, single tickets are available in any combination.

The PERFORMERS SERIES-TRADITIONAL will feature three artists for the main stage performances. Our traditional series events seek to appeal to a broad range of art lovers. The season opens with a musical drama Always…Patsy Cline on October 31st.  Celebrate the holidays with the Women of Ireland on December 12th. In 2016 enjoy an evening of nostalgia with Under the Streetlamp on March 13th.  Season tickets for this incredible series of three events are priced at $85 per person for adults, $77 for seniors and $68 for students/children.

Women of Ireland

It’s A wonderful Life: Live from WVL Radio Theatre

It’s Christmas Eve in 1945 and only a handful of WVL Radio’s actors have braved the blizzard to perform that evening’s broadcast of It’s A Wonderful Life and keep the station afloat.  This clever play within a play breathes new life into the poignant story of George Bailey and Bedford Falls. The following events make up the FAMILY FUN SERIES:

The FAMILY FUN SERIES is a three-event series that features rollicking family entertainment for the young and young at heart. Our first program will feature Curious George, the Golden Meatball on October 11th.  In 2016, audiences will be treated to Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience which will be hosted on February 13th.    The season will round out with a family-friendly production of Michel Lauziere on April 17th. To ensure participation by the entire family, series tickets for all three events are very reasonably priced at $40 for adults and seniors, and $20 for children aged 18 and under.
