Jasper announces several upcoming closures for water main work

On or around August 11th, the City of Jasper, along with its contractor, will be replacing an aging water main on 13th Street from the Bartley Street intersection west to the Altmeyer Road intersection.

Additionally, the contractor will also be replacing a water main on Dorbett Street from the Ninth Street intersection to the 13th Street intersection.

During this time, motorists can expect to see street closures block-by-block as work commences at the 13th and Bartley Street intersection, then moves west toward Altmeyer Road.

Public access to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center will be best served from its main entrance on Ninth Street.

Work is expected to take six months to complete.

The City of Jasper reminds motorists to use caution and slowdown in construction zones.
