Jasper 14 year old All Stars win first game at World Series

The Jasper Babe Ruth 14 Year Old All Stars opened World Series play at Moses Lake, Washington Saturday in impressive fashion beating Kansas 8 -0.

Jasper’s Tanner Egbert pitched a gem:  one-hitting Kansas, striking out 13, and going the distance.

Jasper broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the third scoring three runs when Reece Kleinhelter tripled, Egbert singled, and Jared Sermersheim doubled.

Jasper belted 11 hits in the game with Adam Hedinger, Connor O’Brien, Mason Thewes, Sermersheim and Kleinhelter all stroking two hits apiece.

Jasper is competing in the 5-team National Division Pool which includes teams from New York, Kansas, Arkansas, and host Moses Lake, Washington.  The top 3 teams in that division after 4 pool play games will advance to  the single elimination round on Thursday.

Jasper plays New York Sunday at 2:00 p.m. EDT.
