Jason Heber Gladish, 44, Petersburg

Jason Heber Gladish, 44, of Petersburg, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026, at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, with his loving father and family by his side. He has now gone to be reunited with his beloved mother, sister, grandfather, and others who have gone before.

Jason was born on December 9, 1981, in Paoli to James and Shililah Gladish.

He was a proud graduate of Pike Central High School, Class of 2000, and a member of the Mt. Olive General Baptist Church in Winslow, Indiana.

Jason faced health challenges throughout his life that affected some of his daily activities, but he never allowed them to diminish the remarkable person he was. He was a kind-hearted, gentle, and loving soul who brought warmth and compassion to those around him. Jason cherished his family dearly and treasured the time he spent with them.

In his free time, Jason enjoyed playing video games and loved karate, earning his black belt. Above all, Jason will be remembered for his gentle spirit, loving heart, and the deep love he had for his family and friends.

Jason was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him. Though he is no longer with us, the love he shared and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends.

Jason’s life was a gift, his memory a treasure, and his love will never be forgotten.

Jason is survived by his father, James Gladish II; his sister, Jodi Gladish; his paternal grandmother, Janet Gladish, maternal grandparents, Rodney McCandless and Bettye Benjamin; his uncles, Jeff Gladish, Mark McCandless, Chet McCandless, Rodger McCandless; and his aunt, Jayne Gladish; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shililah Gladish; his sister, Julie Gladish; and his grandfather, James William Gladish.

A visitation will take place at Lamb Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City on October 10, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. EDT. A service will be held on October 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with a visit prior from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. EDT. Burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg, Indiana. Pastor Alex Benefiel will be officiating.

Lamb Basham Memorial Chapel is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements and care of the family.
