Jane M. Schwenk, 78, Jasper

Jane M. Schwenk, 78, of Jasper, passed away surrounded by family at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Serenity Springs at Northwood in Jasper.

Jane was born in Huntingburg on August 1, 1947, to Harry and Leona (Dupps) Block. 

She married Ambrose Schwenk on April 27, 1968, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2017.

She was a proud member of the Jasper High School class of 1965.

She retired from Patoka Valley Feeds, where she had worked for over 40 years, and was known to many children as the Bubble Gum Lady.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.

Jane enjoyed reading, going to the casino, playing Bingo, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by one son, Brian Schwenk and fiancé, Jenna Greulich, of Santa Claus; bonus grandchildren, Madelyn, Wyatt, and Easton Greuchlich; one sister, Mary Ann (Mike) Hunt of New Albany; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Shadow.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jane M. Schwenk will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Mass time at the church on Monday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dubois County Humane Society, SIRS, Inc, or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Heart-to-Heart Hospice, Serenity Springs, Brookside Village, and DaVita Dialysis for their kind and compassionate care for Jane.  In addition, a special thanks goes to all those who volunteered their time to take her to medical treatments
