Jane E. (Sanders) Payne, 72, Shoals

Jane E. (Sanders) Payne, 72, of Shoals, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, Jasper.

Born April 23, 1952, in Shoals, she was the daughter of Carl F and Bessie M. (Gilbert) Sanders.

Jane graduated from Shoals High School.

She retired from NWSC Crane where she was an executive assistant for over 47 years.

Jane was a member of the West Shoals Church of Christ and a past member of Psi-Iota-Xi.

She enjoyed reading, playing scrabble, crossword puzzles, and collecting various dishes.

She is survived by her siblings, Julinda (Bryan) Adams, Tim Sanders, and Charles A. (Patti) Sanders; grandchildren, Katie (Daniel Jackson) Payne, Myrissa (Kyle Byers) Payne, and Jonathan (Avory Bauernfiend) Payne; great-grandchildren, Amaylea Payne, Avi Byers, and Hayzlee Bauernfiend; brother-in-law, Clifford Warren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jennifer Payne; and siblings, Carl J. Sanders, Susan E. Warren, and Brenda M. Holzworth.

The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care, with Stan Day officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until the service hour on Wednesday at the Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals.
