James W. “Jim” Shipman, 77, Dubois
James W. “Jim” Shipman, 77, of Dubois, passed away on February 5, 2023.

He was born in West Baden on May 21, 1945, to James “Bud” Shipman and Emma Jane (Jones) McFarland and raised by his beloved grandparents Earl and Grace (Jordan) Shipman.
Jim served in the United States Army and retired from Crane NSWC.
He was a member of the French Lick American Legion Post 76, where he was currently serving as Commander.
Jim was most proud of being a dad and “Pops” to his seven grandchildren.
He is survived by wife, Glenda Shipman of Dubois; daughters, Megan Betz (Josh) of Indianapolis and Miranda Krieg (Adam) of Tell City; brothers, Tim Conrad (Lola) of French Lick, Mike Conrad (Ruth) of French Lick and Jerry Wayne Shipman of Indianapolis; sisters, Patty Denny of Muncie, Connie Burns (Terry) of Muncie, Brenda King (Dave) of Muncie and Barbara Shipman of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home with burial to follow in Crystal Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Arrangements are in the care of Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home, French Lick.
