James R. “Jim” Carlisle, 76

James R. “Jim” Carlisle, age 76, of the Pikeville community, passed away at 5:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at The Waters of Huntingburg in Huntingburg after a short illness.
He was born September 27, 1936 in Stendal, Indiana to Guy A. and Retta (Russell) Carlisle. He was united in marriage to Ruth E. Brockriede on April 26, 1958 at Zoar Church in Zoar, Indiana.
Mr. Carlisle retired after 32 years as an Operating Engineer with the I.U.O.E. Local #181 and was involved in the daily operation of the family farm until his recent illness. He was a 50-year member of the Winslow Masonic Lodge #260 F&AM, a member of the Winslow Eastern Star #391, a founding member of the Lockhart Township Volunteer Fire Department, attended Zoar United Methodist Church, and served as a Lockhart Township Trustee.
He was preceded in death by: his mother and father.

Rex Carlisle of Stendal, IN
One daughter and one son-in-law,
Beth (Jason) Goeppner of Pikeville, IN
and five grandchildren,
Jacob Carlisle, Taylor Carlisle (granddaughter), Brandon Goeppner, Corey Goeppner and Parker Goeppner.
Funeral services for James R. “Jim” Carlisle will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Zoar United Methodist Church in Zoar, Indiana with burial to follow at Cup Creek Cemetery near the Pikeville Community. The funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Marianne Hawkins, Rev. Terry Russell and Pastor Jeff Crowe.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-9:00 p.m., on Friday; and also at Zoar United Methodist Church from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday. Beginning at 7:00 p.m., Friday evening, a memorial service by the Winslow Masonic Lodge will be held at the funeral home immediately followed by a memorial service conducted by the Lockhart Township Fire Department and the Indiana Volunteer Firefighter’s Association District #18.
