James M. Mueller, 75

James M. “Jim” Mueller, 75, of Owensboro, Ky., formerly of Dubois, died Monday, March 30, 2015, at Hospice of Western Kentucky in Owensboro.

He was born in Louisville, Ky., on May 17, 1939, to Julius and Frances Mueller. He married Jill Berkel in 1968.

Mr. Mueller graduated from West Baden High School and earned a master’s degree from Indiana State University. He taught and coached basketball for almost 50 years in Indiana and Kentucky. He served at Springs Valley High School, Northeast Dubois High School and Pike Central High School in Indiana and Owensboro Catholic High School and Daviess County High School in Kentucky. He enjoyed coaching, teaching and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Jill Mueller; a son, Matt Mueller; a daughter, Jamie Mueller; his mother, Frances Mueller; two sisters, Mary Melton and husband Steve and Julianne Edwards and husband Harvey; and close friends Jim and Jenny Wilson.

The funeral will be at noon CDT Monday in St. Stephen Cathedral in Owensboro, Ky. The body will be cremated.

Friends may call from noon to 6 p.m. CDT Saturday and 9 to 11:30 a.m. CDT Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory in Owensboro.
