James M. Dillon, 80, Otwell

James M. Dillon, 80, Otwell, passed away at 12:17 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016, at the VA Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

James was born in Pike County on August 4, 1935, to Tony B. and Marjorie M. (DeMotte) Dillon.

James was an U.S. Army veteran who served behind the Iron Curtain in Berlin, Germany, and also served in the Secret Service during his time in Berlin.

James was an ironworker and a truck driver. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #3587, and a member of the American Legion Post #147, Jasper Moose, the Eagles of Huntingburg, and the Florida Race Horse Association. He enjoyed riding horses.

He is survived by one sister, Vivian Reed of Otwell; four brothers, Horace Dillon and his wife Joyce of Otwell, Norman Dillon and his wife Phyllis of Otwell, Lowell Dillon of Huntingburg and Roger Dillon of Washington;
several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are one brother, Ralph Dillon; three half-sisters, Clarabelle Sheldon, Ninalea Lottes and Virginia Traylor; and one half-brother, Sylvester “Sonny” Dillon.

Private funeral services were held at Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home.
