James K. “Jim” Vaughn, 94, Jasper
James K. “Jim” Vaughn, 94, of Jasper, passed away at 2:23 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during World War II. Jim was a retired brick mason. He also worked at the Jasper Municipal Golf Course, Sultan’s Run and French Lick Golf Course.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, the Indiana/Kentucky BAC Union, American Legion Post #147, Jasper K of C, Fraternal Order of Police, Jasper Outdoor REC, and Holy Name Society.
He enjoyed golfing and fishing and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Indiana University Basketball fan.
He is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Gehlhausen of Jasper; one son, Donald Vaughn of Jasper; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death besides his wife are one sister, Florence Hensley.
A Mass of Christian Burial for James K. “Jim” Vaughn will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper. American Legion Post #147 will conduct military gravesite rights.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Saturday.
