James “Jim” Robert Jackle, 55, Ferdinand

James “Jim” Robert Jackle, 55, of Ferdinand, formerly of Huntingburg, passed away at 5:56 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at home.

Jim was born in Jasper on August 9, 1968, to Robert G. Jackle and Sandra R. Johnson.

He married his long-time sweetheart, Diana Cobbs, on February 14, 1998.

He was a 1986 Jasper High School graduate. He served over ten years in the National Guard.

Jim started working at JOFCO in 1996, currently known as Jasper Group. He was known as one of the best cabinet repairmen.

He was a talented woodworker who built custom furniture for his family and friends. He enjoyed cartooning, drawing, fixing up old computers, retro gaming, vintage recording, attending concerts, movies, Star Trek, Star Wars, and spending time with loved ones.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Diana Jackle of Ferdinand; two sisters, Sharon Rizley of Jasper and Kathryn (Joseph) Cozza of Jasper; nieces and nephews, Megan, Eric, and Alec Rizley, Bryor and Kirby Schepers and David and Levin Cozza.  

He is preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law, Dorothy M. Cobbs; father-in-law, Lowell N. Cobbs; three brothers, Thomas, Ronald, and Kenneth “Kenny” Jackle; one nephew, Garet Schepers, and brother-in-law, Darren Rizley.

A Celebration of Life service for James “Jim” Jackle will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville. Pastor Timothy Kraemer will officiate. A burial will follow at Portersville Cemetery in Jasper. The American Legion Post #147 will perform military graveside rites.
