James “Jack” Moeller, age 74 of Jasper, passed away at 6:50 a.m. on Monday (January 14, 2013) at home.

Jack was born on September 23, 1938 in Jasper, IN to Hugo and Leona (Gehlhausen) Moeller. He married Rita Burke on September 17, 1959 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony, IN.

He worked as a finish sprayer for Jasper Lumber Company for 49 years.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he served as an usher, money counter, and as a Eucharistic Minister at Brookside Village Retirement Community and for homebound individuals. He was a member of the Jasper Knights of Columbus. He was a volunteer at the community food bank for many years.

He enjoyed bowling for the Knights of Columbus bowling league, where he bowled for 49 years. He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, Jasper Baseball, and was an avid Brooklyn/L.A. Dodgers fan.

Preceding him in death are two brothers, Richard and Kenneth Moeller.

Funeral services for Jack Moeller will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday (January 18, 2013) at Holy Family Catholic Church with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday (January 17, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, The Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center, or the Dubois County Community Food Bank.
