James J. “Jim” Mundy, 72
James J. “Jim” Mundy, age 72, of Huntingburg, passed away at 1:30 a.m., Thursday, January 19, 2012 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.
He was born July 21, 1939 in Jasper, Indiana to Franklin and Leona (Gramelspacher) Mundy. He was united in marriage to JoAnn Gadlage on September 14, 1963 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. Jim retired from his full-time occupation as a production manager at Spencer Plastics. He was currently working part-time for the Huntingburg Parks & Recreation Department and as a bartender at the Y.M.I. Club. He was a member of: St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Y.M.I. Club, V.F.W. Post #2366, Optimist Club, Southridge Letterman’s Club, and was a former president of the Huntingburg Little League. He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division. He was preceded in death by one sister, Roseann Kays.

One brother, Hubert “Hub” Mundy – Huntingburg, IN,
and by (8) grandchildren.
Funeral services for James “Jim” Mundy will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Monday, January 23, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Huntingburg. The V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail will conduct military graveside rites.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Sunday. A parish rosary prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening, followed by a Y.M.I. memorial service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the Y.M.I. Club.
