James Henriott, 94, Knox, Ind.
James Henriott, 94, Knox, Ind., passed away on January 21, 2024, following a short illness.

James was born Nov. 20, 1929, in Logansport, Ind., and attended Rochester High School and graduated in 1947.
He enrolled at ISU, Terre Haute, and majored in mathematics and industrial arts. Upon graduating, He was inducted into the US Army, serving two years as a counterintelligence agent in Germany.
He reconnected with his sweetheart, Beatrice Lehman, and they were married in 1956 in Hamburg, Germany. Jim and Bea were married for 65 years until her death on April 1, 2022.
Jim earned his masters’s degree in school administration from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., in 1960.
Jim’s high school teaching careers began in Richmond, Mishawaka, Rochester, and South Bend, Ind. His first administrative job was guidance director and high school assistant principal at North Judson, principal of Liberty Middle School in North Judson, and high school principal at North White High School in Monon, Ind.
In 1978, Jim came to Knox, Ind. as the high school principal and was promoted to be assistant superintendent and transportation director. Jim retired in May of 1992 from the Knox High School in Knox, Ind.
He was a member of the Monon Lions Club and the Knox Kiwanis Club and served as chairman of the Starke County Scholarship Selection Committee. Jim was an avid golfer and had a hole-in-one on Sept. 13, 2011, at Hamlet, Ind., where he played for over 30 years.
He is survived by three children; Jay Henriott (Rosie) of Jasper, Jill Harvey (Steve) of Banner Elk, N.C., and Ann Nicoson (Kevin) of Lafayette, Ind.; granddaughter, Jenna (Henriott) Seng of Jasper; seven other grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A private visitation, funeral service, and burial were held earlier for relatives and close friends.
