James D. Neuman, 84, Huntingburg

James D. Neuman, 84, of Huntingburg, passed away at 5:53 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Brookside Village in Jasper.
He was born April 14, 1931, in Huntingburg to Walter and Dena (Hoffman) Neuman. He married Ruth Heidorn on August 20, 1955, at Salem Church in Huntingburg.
Jim was a retired telephone lineman. He was a member of the Holland American Legion Post #343 and Quail Unlimited. He enjoyed watching sports, especially basketball, and was a fisherman and coon hunter. He served as a corporal in the United States Army.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Neuman of Huntingburg; two daughters and two son-in-laws, Elaine (Dwight) Caraway of Jasper and Jacque (John) Lueken of Huntingburg; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Russell (Donna) Neuman of Huntingburg and Phillip Neuman of Huntingburg; two sisters, Marge Bohnert of Jasper and Dorothy Klusmeier of San Diego, Cali.; two brothers, Robert Neuman of Westville, Ill. and Charles Neuman of Princeton; by six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for James D. Neuman will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg.
The Holland American Legion Post #343 Memorial Detail will conduct military graveside rites. Rev. Debbie Roe will officiate at the funeral service.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Monday.
